Some time ago, Lord Nazir Ahmed, the peer at the centre of the bugging allegations, was still being described as a New Labour loyalist. Lord Ahmed, who has been advocating Pakistan's case at every forum in Britain. He commands great respect among the British Muslims, specially in the Pakistani and Kashmiri community in England. Equally he has great respect among 140 millions Brother and Sister Pakistanis living in Pakistan! At times, Lord Ahmed has reacted the against mass labelling the muslims as 'terrorist' and rebuked far and wide. He argued the facts behind such claims had to be established for the "British Muslims' sakes". That illustrated his concern that whole communities were being misguided by the vested interests. Since the year 1992, Lord Ahmed's impact on the British political scenerio has reached high and beyond anyone's comprehensions. He founded the British Muslim Councillors' Forum. | |
